Dear Editor of Times,
What do you think of this cruel animal testing that’s going on while you’re sitting lazily on the couch, watching TV? My name is Tiffany C., and I’m here to explain that to you. It’s vain, it’s dead wrong, and here’s why.
So, first of all, why do you think you’re even relaxing here, reading my letter? It’s because of animal testing. You wouldn’t be here right now if it weren’t for the animals. The products sent out that are safe for you have been tested on animals. Why couldn’t we test on plants? I mean, I love nature, too, but animals have feelings just like us, you know. We are just as much as an animal as they are. I know that others agree to animal testing because they would rather test on animals than humans, but animals are partially related to us, like, for instance, the apes. We were born from the apes, and testing on them is just like killing our own kin. You see my point, right?
Now, how would you like it as an animal if you were taken away and placed in front of bright, flashing lights? Suddenly, a needle flies at you, and all of a sudden, something painful is being injected into your arm by a burly, bearded scientist. Death would be creeping near you every second. That’s how a poor, innocent creature feels when they are tested on. It is inhumane and disgusting. Nearly every animal known to man has been cruelly tested upon. If you think that there are even hardly any animals being tested upon, you should know that inexplicably, more than 10,000 years worth of animals were used in 1 year for animal testing. Some were mutated, many died, several went crazy, and a few were all right.
When I skim over the test results, and over the animal testing amounts, I consider the rights that animals have, and I think to myself: NONE! If so many animals are being tested each year against their will, do you think that there will even be any more animals several year later? Animals are being taken away from the world faster than you think. Animal testing is pure torture, and it is inhumane. Just because animals are unable to describe their feelings doesn’t mean that they don’t have feelings. Animals are just like us. But sometimes, I wonder why we abuse these innocent animals if they are such a great part of our lives. They build up the food chain, and they are extremely important. They are such an influence on our lives, yet we don’t truly appreciate them.
So, do you agree with me? Don’t animals need to be treated fairly? Do you think animal testing is the best alternative?
Sincerely,
Tiffany
